Flight Over The River Valley

This installation is at the Margaret Chase Smith Community School in Skowhegan, Maine.
A dynamic mobile themed around the river hawk and its river habitat is located in the foyer to welcome students and staff. This suspended art piece creates an engaging atmosphere for the learning environment, embodying curiosity, playfulness, and inclusivity, while appealing to students of all ages—from early childhood through middle school and into the high school tech center.
The River Hawk theme features a swirling river at the base, with sculpted waves and water formations teeming with shimmering fish. Colorful birds soar, swoop, and dive overhead, while a River Hawk nest with its young sits atop, echoing the mascot of the school.
