The wood came from a local instrument builder. He let me go through his precious bin of cut offs. I fell in love with the curves and left the bottom curve exactly how they were shaped.
The ebony ovals are what is used for the neck or finger board of the instruments and is quite thick, so I could file these almost 3-d shapes.
